In honor of @salonscale adding the extension feature to their app I wanted to do a video to debunk a few common hair extension myths that sometimes make stylists nervous about offering them and clients nervous or hesitant to get them! During every extension consultation @salonscale has recently been a game changer for me because no matter what time day or night I have access to calculate hair totals, I can save extension orders to clients profiles, I can build custom extension orders, or create individual orders in a matter of seconds! So I no longer have to call and wait for a distributor or sales rep to give me pricing or order totals. TOTAL GAME CHANGER and TIME SAVER! Now let’s talk about the most common hair extension myth! Will extensions damage my hair?!? Extensions are perfectly safe and can actually aid in allowing your real hair to grow IF they are done correctly. Remember products don’t cause damage an incorrect application and not properly maintaining extensions does! Always do your research if you are a client wanting them done. And stylists continue to educate yourself with extensions and the newest trends so you are not ever left behind! Do ✔️make sure your stylist has extensive experience doing multiple extensions methods and has been trained and certified in all the methods, you tube university does not count and neither does just learning a new method and the next day your stylist is an expert and taking clients. Ask your service provider questions like how many methods/techniques do you know? When were you certified in each? Extensions require a ton of practice and lack of practice and experience can lead to damage unfortunately. Stylists Do ✔️ get certified in multiple extension methods. This is a big one! Extensions are just like color you cannot just know one technique or method or product and expect to do the same thing on all clients and achieve different results! Everyones needs are different, as well as hair type, hair goals, and hair density. All of those differences are factored in when figuring out the best product and method are paired to give your clients their dream hair and best hair extension experience possible!
