A very happy birthday to Yinka Shonibare CBE RA 🎂 This is the artist's sculpture, 'Beekeeper (Girl) II', from this year's Summer Exhibition. A young girl studies a bee colony on honeycomb, and you need to be up-close to truly appreciate the furry bees covered in pollen. She wears the artist's signature batik fabric outfit and has a globe in place of a head, but this time with an added Victorian-style “bee veil” on top.
