Last night was one of those epic NY moments. Ten years ago, this month, I came out. I can’t even believe I’m saying that. A whole damn decade. Anyone who knows me, knows that Glee - played a HUGE part of my coming out journey. Pre-coming out, I was so drawn to/enamored with the character Blaine (Darren’s character on the show) and was inspired by the relationship he and his onscreen partner portrayed in the series. Over the course of these past ten years, I have had the pleasure of meeting @darrencriss a few times from being in this business. One of those times was when he came to see Paramour back in 2016 and get a backstage tour (swipe for the hilarious throwback and PLZ be kind about my Cirque makeup. 🤣) But last night, as I was waiting for my lyft, I turn and see Darren on a FT call outside next to me. After chatting for quite some time, I then told him about the impact his character had on me and my coming out. He couldn’t have been sweeter and more kind as he always has been. Truly an A+ stand up guy. And that’s the story. I love NY. Darren is super fucking rad. And I love being gay. Happy ten year gay-versary to me. 🌈
