These are common things I get pushback from patients on and lord forbid no drinking is allowed while on the medication like #accutane 😆 but here are my reasons: #1Hot water strips skin of natural oils and causes dry skin. Not good for eczema as well. #2 Black soap or soaps in general are highly alkaline and drying to skin. Do not use on face most especially 3# Wearing make up to bed increases risk of breakouts and other skin irritation. 4# For some meds, we need you to not drink alcohol during treatment to reduce adverse risk or even decrease in the effectiveness of the medication. Accutane alone can, in some cases, damage the liver, so combining it with alcohol can increase the risk of such happening. We are not trying to ruin your college experience or social life foreal.
