The device you have in your hand can be used by these traffickers to stalk, groom and prey on you. Parents please check your kids phones and be aware of who they are talking to and what they are into. I hear countless stories around parents not being aware of who their kids are connecting with via social media and awful things happen. As a friend once told me “Looking through your kids phone to protect them is NOT digging into their privacy or crossing boundaries. It’s to protect them from something that could haunt them for life. This device is the devils playground. If my kid wants privacy, a place to let it all go. Get a DIARY, I will never read that. Our jobs as parents is to protect them.. We can be friends later.” I have never forgotten this conversation and I will live by it. Remember you wouldn’t want yourself, your child or a friend walking through a bad part of town late at night-so why would you treat the device in your hand where there are all kinds of kinds watching your day to day like it’s rainbows and unicorns.
