3️⃣ years ago was my first day as a neurosurg PNP🥹🧠💕⁣ ⁣ Welp, 3 years and a pandemic, therapy, starting medication then changing it & changing it again, turning my long distance relationship into a relationship with a house & cats later and a whole lot of other events I’m here.⁣ ⁣ I was excited, terrified, grateful, nervous, depressed, and a little bright-eyed and bushy-tailed when I started. I’m still most of these, although a little more tired and my mental health is a little better now overall.😅 I still have a ton to learn, but I have confidence now that I never imagined when I started pursuing this career.⁣ ⁣ This system is flawed and our healthcare workers and patients both deserve way more; I hope to be part of actions towards a more equitable system, and I hope that I’m able to be a helpful part of my families’ care team and my team. I’m doing this for the kiddos, their families, my ancestors, my loved ones, my fellow HCWs and those following in our footsteps.⁣ ⁣ Every workiversary, I make an effort to be reflective and a lil sappy because it’s so easy to get caught up in life and forget how hard I’ve worked to get to this point. I forgot to stop and remember that I’m living a version of a life I’ve envisioned since I was a kiddo. ⁣ ⁣ Thank you for being part of this journey and for reading my usual rambling hehe. I consider myself incredibly lucky to be part of this community and I’m so so thankful to work with the team I do.💜😘
