It's still Tomato Season, which means it's definitely still BLT Season. And although the beauty of this sandwich lies is in its simplicity, we have a few tips to share on how to make the ultimate BLT.
1. Crisp bacon is a must! Our culinary director @dyanneiandoli swears by this oven method for perfect bacon every time: "Cook your bacon in the oven at 400 degrees between parchment paper and two sheet pans to ensure that your bacon will lay flat in your sandwich. This also helps render out all the fat so its extraaa crisp"
2. Show your tomato some extra love by seasoning it with salt and sumac, which which will bring out its flavor. Don't be shy about cutting your tomato into thick slices either.
3. This is a safe space for mayo lovers. We love using a generous layer on either toasted brioche or sourdough to compliment all the other flavors of your sandwich.
4. Use your lettuce (we like Bibb but Romaine or Iceberg would be nice and crisp too) to create a barrier between your bread and the tomato and bacon. This will keep your bread from getting soggy.
