This historic San Francisco house is a total trip. AD100 designer Nicole Hollis completely reimagined the Colonial-Revival style Haight Ashbury beauty in psychedelic fashion as a tribute to the city’s progressive legacy, the audacious tastes of the clients, and the fact that many countercultural bands of the 1960’s laid tracks there in the recording studio of previous owner Gene Estribou. “It’s Grateful Dead meets Burning Man meets Marrakech meets Victorian push, with a generous dose of contemporary design and art,” says @nicolehollissf. “I wanted to bring rock and roll into the life of the house, not just as an applied gloss but as part of its DNA.” Full story in October AD and link in bio 📷 @douglasfriedman text @mayer.rus architecture @richard.beard.architects
