POV: it’s Tuesday after a long weekend and your boss simply asks you to✨do your job✨ Don’t we all wish we could spend half the year hibernating in our burrows like marmots? Hibernation season is quickly approaching and generally lasts late September - May, and during this time, marmot colonies get super cuddled up in their burrow to help conserve energy to survive winter at high altitudes. They also store up a bunch of fat over the summer to get themselves through nearly 200 days of hibernating and need to take only one to two breaths per minute. To paint this picture, it’s Sunday night, you’re watching House of the Dragon while snacking and taking occasional breaths in between chewing and your dog is glued to your side hoping you will drop something (you don’t, of course). So yeah, that’s basically hibernation season for marmots. Happy Tuesday, you all got this✨ 📸: Jon Mullen 🗺: White River National Forest
