my heart is so full! 💕 thank you to everyone who participated in painting the community mural of the 47th ward at Berenice Bash on Sunday! it truly was so special to not only see so many kids & adults excited about painting, but also to see how folks patiently & kindly supported each other with painting their respective sections. it is also powerful to see the physical representation & embodiment of the collective transformation that happens when we each do a small part of something, collectively. I’ll be finishing the mural by doing some touch-ups, painting the background, & doing some outlining in the next weeks, so stay tuned for the 💫 final reveal 💫 thanks to @aldermanmattmartin & his team for organizing such a cool event to activate the parking lot & to invite local makers, artists, creators, & art lovers to spend some time together in the sun & shade. thanks especially to Alderperson Martin’s team - especially Maggie (& Linnea @linneaslibrary who has since started a new job)! AND I was thrilled that @feltifriends offered an amazing workshop 🐟 & wish i could’ve joined to make a perfect little Felti friend (& let my two visiting friends join the workshop the day of - thank you Sam!) im also grateful to everyone who stopped by & chatted with me at my adjacent booth, & to those who took some pieces of art home with them. every purchase helps me continue to create, explore new means of creative expression, & advance projects or ideas. it helps me pay my studio rent & invest in new or more materials & it helps me pay application fees for shows & exhibits & markets, so that I can share my work with the world. a few folks asked about if I do workshops or would do a commissioned paint by numbers for their office or home - the answer is yes!
