there are far too many things i want to say about this experience. when @neverhaveiever first came out, my family friends and i rushed to our screens to watch. to be a brown girl who grew up in the valley watching a NETFLIX show about a brown girl from the valley was CRAZY. to understand teeny tiny jokes that felt so close to home was WILD. (theres a scene that maneesha and i kept rewinding to because we swore they were driving past a temple we grew up going to and were impressed to the attention to the valley detail 😈) but!! specifically about this day! i will always be so grateful for this day. to have been able to talk to these amazing women about their experience, about our experiences, and what it means to see people that look like us on a wildly success show and platform. to be on a set and look around and see as many WOC as i did felt magical. i’m so grateful that i was able to thank them for all their work, on screen and off! that i could tell them how much this representation means to me, my brother, my family and friends. @maitreyiramakrishnan @megansuri @richamoorjani make me so so happy and proud. this industry has truly been a gift for me. at the beginning of 2020, the brilliant @sajaniamarasiri was the only other south asian creative i knew and i was dying to meet more. through the wonders of photographing and assisting i have now had the privilege of getting to know more south asian brands and humans i want to befriend and support!! ugh. also, what a dreamy cast to photograph!! even amongst a jam packed day with an intense schedule, everyone was so kind and fun to be around and that always makes a difference. thank you to @hanifa.haris and @donnymoments for the opportunity and to @simrahfarrukh @nolwencif and @producedbygina for the support ❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥 and s/o @dallaswing on that retouching ayy 🤑 very quick and almost random shout out to @tanfrance and @nikdodani, both incredibly talented individuals i have met on different jobs who make me proud and and want to believe in myself, and in both long and short conversation made me feel like they care about me, our successes and our experiences. i’m sappy and i love everyone and feel nice
