Health is like money. We never have a true idea of it’s value until we lose it. Please read my story 👇🏽 Working harder isn’t always better. Inside and outside of the gym. Your body tells you what it needs. If you listen. Fight or flight only works for so long. Many of those who are close to me know I’ve been burning the midnight oil for years. I’ve been working insane hours between my full-time IT job, the IT recruiting work I do on the side for additional income for my new business, and the daily hours I log as an entrepreneur to build my team and prepare for my @luxefit launch. Trust me this life may look glamorous of mine but I never stop working. I’m working until 3AM almost every single night. Due to the copious workloads I’ve put upon myself, I’m becoming more aware of my body’s signals. There’s a distinct difference between pushing through or doing damage. You won’t realize it right away because we’re so used to adapting to stressful environments, but actual exhaustion or burnout will hit you like a train🚊 You can harm your body and even cause illness if this prolongs. I’ve needed to rest and recover more and tone down my workouts lately and add more gentle movement so I don’t add additional stress on my body. Some of the symptoms I experienced: Extreme fatigue, dizziness, fluid retention, skin rashes Remedies I have in place: Epsom salt baths, more gentle exercise and long walks outside, yoga, meditation, plant based nutrition, gut health, setting limits for work, and most important is my energy management work. The results are instantaneous when you listen to your bodies’ signals and give it what it truly needs. Whether you’re going through a stressful time or recovering from illness, this is my reminder to all to take gentle care of your body.
