Warm Protein Smoothie Bowls are the new oat bowls - you heard it here first!!!
I love smoothies, but now is not the time for them. Every #TCM practitioner and acupuncturist I’ve ever known always urges people to stop drinking cold drinks in the fall and winter months. In TCM, too much internal coldness impacts circulation of blood and fluids and our overall Qi. As someone who is currently trying to build up some #kidneyQi, I’m looking at ways to support my efforts through nutrition as well as my monthly #acupuncture.
This is a #glutenfree and #grainfree easy breakfast idea that hits my protein target and satisfies my sweet cravings.
1/2 cup coconut milk + 1/2 cup raw milk (you can use any milk for this - dealers choice)
1 tbsp hemp seeds
1 tbsp chia seeds
1 scoop @gainful protein powder
1 tsp cinnamon
(Feel free to add a tbsp of milled flaxseeds as well)
On medium-to-low heat, whisk vigorously until a low/slow boil begins. Turn heat to low, and continue whisking until the mixture begins to thicken. Then remove from heat and continue whisking until desired thickness is achieved.
Top with your favs! Mine are: stewed blueberries and homemade apple sauce, peanut butter, goji berries, pumpkin seeds, cacao nibs.
