I’m so excited to show the first shoot I’ve done as a producer! We shot this back in January, when Arsenic Magazine was finding its new home in Los Angeles and I wanted the shoot to be extremely intentional. I have been so inspired by a shifting consciousness in the world that has trickled down to the Entertainment and Fashion Industries as well. Companies (and the models who represent them) are diversifying. Bodies are being photographed in a more true form, with significantly less photoshop and alterations than I was certainly used to seeing growing up. And women are taking back the power of their own sexuality, possessing it for themselves and their own enjoyment rather than for someone else’s gratification. With this in mind, our team worked to create our own approach to sex appeal, with our models smiling and exhibiting a different kind of intimacy, with minimal makeup and no post-production photoshop. No overt posing, just women hanging at home and feeling comfortable. I think there’s so much more beauty to be found in reality than in overtly curated images meant to separate the women being photographed from the women viewing the final product. Thank you a million times over to our whole team for making the vision come to life, and having a blast in the process! Publication: @arsenic MUA: @meg_tronic Models: @kristinamenissov @imjordynjames
