Everyday New Yorkers are already answering the call to help tackle the city’s migrant crisis.
NBC New York’s Kay Angrum caught up with “Grub Guru” Kf Seetoh (@kfseetoh) to talk about his ongoing effort to hire asylum seekers at his new Singaporean food hall that opened last month in midtown.
“I’m not hiring migrants,” Seetoh said. “I’m hiring people.”
Urban Hawker, located at 135 West 50th Street, is the brainchild of Seetoh and the late Anthony Bourdain.
It serves the city’s largest selection of diverse food from renowned Singapore vendors. The company is in talks with the city to see how they can get stuff done by getting people work.
Keep watching to learn more.
