I think I’m a Christmas in New York with kids pro after our 4th annual trip! Here’s a list of our favorite things, plus some tips and tricks! Our favorite things to do: •Aladdin! It was soooo good. Would see it again! •Ice Skating. We do Wollman Rink in Central Park bc it’s the only time we take the chance to walk through the park, and it’s the largest. •Museum of ice cream! Always a hit. We usually take the 10am slot to go right when it opens. The slime factory is across the street and is a good option afterward. Also suggest going to Rubirosa for pizza after (5 minute walk). Resys are HARD to get, so set an alarm! •pedicab ride around the hot spots. Lock in a rate with him BEFORE you get on. Give him the amount of time you want to spend on the ride so he doesn’t take his precious time. Many are $9 a minute, but some will try to pull one over on you. •See the Rockettes once! We saw them 3 years in a row, but we won’t go again because they haven’t changed the performance one bit. •My girls enjoyed the original Serendipity. None of us liked the new one in Times Square. •The Macys Santa is magical once. We’ve been twice. The first time was a weekend morning and the line was ridiculous. The second time was a Thursday night, and we breezed through. WHAT TO AVOID: •the FAO Schwartz line. They just redid the layout, and it’s so much better, but the line is ridiculous. If you can go EARLY and get in line before they open, do that! One parent can get coffees from the Ralph Lauren coffee truck while the other waits. •Summit One Vanderbilt. It’s gotten OUT OF CONTROL! We went 2 years in a row. We bought sunset tickets (4:30), and we sat in our 4:30 line for 2 hours before we even got up there. Maybe the early slot is better, but I don’t think it’ll be as fun. •The Rockefeller tree at night. Nope. Don’t do it. Go at 8am before everyone is up. •Tourist trap restaurants (besides serendipity)- they’re all garbage. Let’s be real, serendipity is not that great either, but the kids loved it. •Plaza tea. Overpriced. •The Color Factory. Better for older kids. •Bryant park 🎄 village. Gridlocked always.
