It's Training Tip Thursday!
As a general rule, when training for a marathon you want to build mileage slowly and consistently. Doing too many miles one week, then not enough the following week is a recipe for injury.
If you follow the @laroadrunners training plans, you’ll notice that each weekly long-run is usually just one mile longer that the previous week. You’ll also notice that weekly combined mileage only increases a little week after week.
Training for a marathon over several months allows plenty of time to build mileage a little at a time. That means less chance of injury and burn out, and more chance of showing up to the start line well trained and ready!
