A big welcome to my newest followers. I thought it was a good time to re-introduce myself and explain what LI Beauty Scene is all about. Here's what you should know: 1. I'm 41 (and 1/2) and I love this age. I feel more comfortable in my skin at 41 than I did at 21. I don't want to anti-age. I want to age well, and I'm always on the hunt for ways to do that. 2. I'm bicoastal. I grew up on the south shore of Long Island, but I've lived on the north shore for the past 16 years. That means I don't play favorites. 3. I'm not an influencer; I'm an editor at heart. Some say magazine editors (my career background) were the original influencers. And while we've amassed a lot of knowledge in the areas we cover, we still defer to experts. That's what I do here. That's what sets me apart from beauty influencers. The trends and tips you'll find here and on my blog come from trusted professionals: hairstylists, makeup artists, dermatologists, nail pros, etc. 4. I run a beauty concierge service. I've helped many happy clients find the right beauty pro for their needs and budget. 5. I'm a science geek. I wish my HS teachers taught cosmetic chemistry and dermatology; I would've gotten way better grades. I love breaking it all down for my readers. Stay tuned for more skincare on the blog.
