This is me:) I’m Colton Bachar. I’m a director and editor in the music industry. I’m extremely laid back but also super driven when it comes to business, building my personal brand, and reaching my career goals. What I do: I help artists and creatives tell their stories, develop their skills, and spread positive impact through our mutual love for music. When I started: I first picked up a camera when I was 6 or 7, bought my first camera when I was 19, and I’ve been editing and shooting ever since. How I got here: I went to college for media studies and by the time I was a senior, I was traveling three and a half hours almost every weekend to Chicago to network and shoot shows or clubs. Upon graduating in 2020, I moved to Chicago and went full time as a freelance videographer (insane, I know). Since going full time, I’ve worked with major festivals like Lollapalooza, Summer Smash, and Suenos. I’ve also worked with some well known EDM artists such as Galantis and Flume. Where I want to go: A lot of the wrk I do right now is focused on live music whether that be shows or festivals but the ultimate goal is to one day be an industry leading music video director. However, my goal is to not wrk with the biggest and most well known artists but instead to wrk with artists and teams that value the impact and positive influence that music can bring to the world. I want my legacy to be that I helped shape the music industry into a more loving and supportive community as apposed to the one that currently prioritizes money and status.
