“Everyone is shocked by the house, really.” That’s interior designer Peter Mikic on the renegade allure of the discreet, low-slung structure he and his husband Sebastian Scott built in the English countryside, where British tradition tends to demand a trophy with columns. “It’s so unassuming, which is what I live about it,” says @petermikic. The house indeed blends into the landscape - it resembles a chicly renovated barn or stable - but step inside and prepare to be dazzled by Mikic’s decorating. “Half the fun if this house was that we were never up against any deadline,” he says. “We lived and worked in London and just took our time searching for the right materials, makers, and manufacturers. The research was a lot of fun.” Full story in a October AD and link in bio. Photos @katemartinphoto text @mrmitchowens
