The Chicago Bears have reopened their search for a new stadium as they have announced that Arlington Heights is no longer their sole focus. . Last night, Chicago Bears President & CEO Kevin Warren issued an open letter to fans about the team’s ongoing stadium saga. In the letter, Warren shared that they are expanding their search in the Chicagoland area and specially mentioned Northwest Indiana as an option. . He cited the main reason for this reopened search is a breakdown in talks with Illinois lawmakers. Talks have stalled over financial issues such as property taxes and the state’s unwillingness to help fund infrastructure that would surround a new stadium. . This comes just a few months after the Bears decided to make Arlington Heights the sole focus for their new stadium. A spokesperson for JB Pritzker said this is a “slap in the face” to Bears fans. . Just when it seemed like progress was being made, a new wrinkle has emerged.
