These days I’m not sure what lense to look through. My rose colored or mud cover lenses see progress. I see progress in my everyday life, I see new people who are recognized and have far better opportunities. I’ve seen things change a lot since I had my sponsorship and Becoming Ruby came out. I feel it. I feel the small things. . I also see the lense of what has happened to our country. Less access to life saving and life changing healthcare for people who are intentionally marginalized. . It’s hard to say if we are moving forward or backwards. This false summit is a bit foggy towards the top. . I guess the people we can look to are the folks who have been around long enough to see change. It seems like change like many other things takes time.
