After having competed 7 times in WBFF with my hair straight and clip in extensions I decided to finally compete with my natural curls. I almost didn’t and questioned myself if I should... wondering if It would effect my “marketing scores”, but the curls were me! I wanted to feel free on stage and not put on a facade. If I was going to win the World Championships by golly I’d do it as me! Although I placed second, wearing my natural curls was one of the best decisions I’ve made competing in WBFF! Yes I know it’s just hair, but it’s also a significant trait to being a Bi-Racial African American woman. Ladies embrace your quirks, and traits that show your ethnic backgrounds.
