The team is doing really well here in Greenland despite some extreme conditions. We managed the first ascent of Pool Wall, which Alex and I managed to free climb at about 5.12 (E6). Some of the pitches were technically challenging and some were quite loose but the hardest part was the weather. We climbed most of the wall in snow, rain, freezing temperatures or strong winds, or in a wild combination of all the bad conditions you can think of. We onsighted some of the pitches, aided others and then managed to free them afterwards in a two-day push. We also collected 8 rock samples from the wall which will provide useful data for climate scientists studying climate change in this area. The whole team really pulled together to equip and climb the route and collect the samples. Now we are skiing across the Renland ice cap to our final objective. We’re crossing our fingers for better conditions as the next wall is 3 times the size 🤯 Wish us luck! 😀 Thanks @jjkelleyfilm for all these shots 📸 @alexhonnold @mikeylikesrocks @heidisevestre @aadarmi @aldokane @blackdiamond @lasportivagram
