Celebrating the opening of Jules Allen Studio Bergamot with a special group of prints made with my good friends @iconla on beautiful paper from @ilfordimaging. In 1993, I was very excited to be asked by FORD MODELS to create a show of large black and white photography prints featuring their recently signed models. The project was to be displayed at the beautiful NIKON HOUSE Gallery in Rockefeller Center, New York; a space that I had long respected. My small photo crew gathered on a Saturday morning at the penthouse studio of SOHO’s famous Puck Building where we would spend the day photographing 10 women represented by the FORD Agency. In the true spirit of editorial photography, there was no agenda other than capturing the unique persona of each model and to enjoy the creative collaboration of the project. It was towards the end of the shoot day when two spectacular women (who also happened to be roommates, fast friends, and very new to the city) happily walked into the penthouse studio. The photo crew instantly realized we had just been introduced to the next generation of global fashion icons. @shalomharlow and @AmberValletta effortlessly inspired the photography that afternoon with their infectious optimism, humor, and beauty as they posed and played in the studio of the Puck penthouse. Whenever I’m asked about my favorite shoots I always think about those few rolls of Tri-X film I was lucky enough to shoot of Amber and Shalom at the very beginning of their epic careers. Each image printed only twice (2/2) except for the 48x62 which is 1/1. Valet park at BirdieG !
