Some of the most important people in my life have fought breast cancer, and I can’t wait until the day we can say ✌🏼 out to it 🎀 ⁣ ⁣ My godmother was the first one who told me to become a NP. When she passed away my sophomore year of college after a tough battle with breast cancer, it was grieving and picking myself up again that catapulted me into this career.⁣ ⁣ My Mama recently finished radiation and thus completed her treatment for breast cancer. If you know me, you know how important my Mama is to me and how vital she has been to be becoming the woman I am today⁣. ⁣ Not a human buuuut Obi had an aggressive form of breast cancer and I miss her every day. ⁣ ⁣ Cancer sucks and it is through funding, research, evidence-based patient care and community that we get closer and closer to better treatments and curative options. We’ve got work to do! We do this for the beautiful humans we love that are affected by breast cancer in some way.⁣ ⁣ Quartz is back in time for Breast Cancer Awareness month!
