I have the best Dad ever. A Black man raising a child in the 90s, he not only bought my Barbies, but would sit on eBay and bid on specific ones for me. I had the Barbie House, Mulan Barbie, Polly Pocket, Bratz, MyScene, you name it. Sailor Moon DVDs, Storm action figures, Madonna compilation CDs. He took me to my first dance class at Lula Washington, and then Debbie Allen, because he heard me dancing to TLC in my room. He bought me heels for Christmas and took me to support groups for Gay Men of Color when I was in high school.
