James Beard Award for Best General Cookbook. 🥹 Where to start? Start with a dream. Start with a goal. Surround yourself with good people and never give up. Last night was filled with tears of gratitude and joy. An overwhelming release of emotion, thinking about everything it took to get to this day, and the pressure I put on myself to do my best. My cookbook is a result of everything that has ever inspired or influenced my cooking- from my mother and aunts and grandmother, to my mentors @gdbrainin and @chefjgv, to all the amazing cooks I have been lucky enough to work along side as we created dish after dish over the years. It was very special to be presented this award by @padmalakshmi, a close friend who has been there for so many of my big life moments. Thank you team @harper_wave for believing in this project, my agent @kwspoon1, @evakosmasflores for the images, and the entire huge team that helped me shoot, style, and recipe test.
