🌞 #SuperSoulSunday Reposted from @marybehindthechair /@thebtcshow edition ❤️ There is only one question you need to ever ask yourself every time you are challenged in life and this is it: will you be a victim or a victor? I was given gifts that helped get me to where I am today. Gift #1: We were very poor growing up, so I appreciate the value of everything. Gift #2 I was introverted and had a hard time making friends, so I read a lot and became a great student. Gift #3: I was terribly bullied, so I am very empathetic to those whose body language tells me they were bullied into believing they are not worthy of their dreams. I chose to see the hard lessons in my life as gifts that gave me the stamina I needed to push past all of the negativity of those who didn’t believe in my dream, who laughed at my dream and who ultimately tried to destroy my dream. When my sister and I were little kids growing up, my dad said “it’s a man’s world and you are already behind. So you’ve got two choices. You can either make excuses for why you can’t be successful or you can get to work. And you’re not going to have to be a smart as a man, you’re going to have to be smarter. You’re not going to have to work as hard as a man, you’re going to have to work harder. Life isn’t fair. Get over it. And get to work. Everything else is just an excuse.” So I ask you: Will you be a victim of your circumstances or will you be a victor of your choices? Will you be a victim and sit around making excuses for why you can’t be successful? Or will you choose to be a victor by putting aside every way the world treated you unfairly and just get to work? The one thing that I can promise you in this choice is that if you choose to sit around waiting for the world to pay you back for what you think it owes you, you’ll be waiting a very long time as you watch others who had similar circumstances quickly pass you by. This is your life, nobody else’s. You will decide how you want to live it. When you go through big things, you’re meant for big things and maybe the world is giving you the strength you need to go the distance. Change your perspective. Change your life. #behindthechair #btcbelieves
