If my 16 year old self could see me now...Hi I’m jessica Powers, I went to cosmetology school @westmec when I was 16 years old, I did online schoolI’m the summer so I could have a light load in HS of one class. Then I’d go to Cosmo school for 4 hours then off to work at Safeway tillMidnight. I did this for 2 years and graduated in 2011 on my 18th Birthday.I continued to work for Safeway for another 5 years while doing hair on the side. I got caught upIn “climbing the ladder” at 23 I was 3rd in charge with 120 employees. Life gave me a hiccup and I decided to move back home to AZ where I said enough is enough and I found god and followed me dreams of working in the salon full time.I still didn’t feel quite fulfilled and slowly “moved up that ladder” again.I turned a store that was #75/ 78 into #2 and in the GREEN. I was promised a promotion and didn’t get it because “I’m too peppy”.Once again I said enough is enough and opened up @jpowers_hair in March of 2019. Mind you I just got engaged a month prior.I worked 50/60 hours a week to build my clientele and pay off all debt & wedding in cash.Covid hit shortly after our wedding and I was forced to shut down...And guess what....I learned there’s more to life then money. My husband and I decided to have a baby and I cut down to 40 hours.
