This series of photos I took at a funeral in Romania was published in the last issue of @primary.paper I have always struggled with these images. Although my friend asked me to take pictures of his aunt’s funeral, I sometimes feel out of place. We barely knew each other at the time and I had never met these people, I wasn’t introduced neither, yet I was there, in the crowd, on the ground taking pictures and they accepted me in their grief. I had never shown these images before. I felt maybe this moment should stay private to the people that were present that day. I also had no idea how to show them, in witch context do you show images of a funeral? When primary paper told me their next issue would be based around the theme of FAITH, I thought this could be right. Knowing how much Faith is at the center of the village’s existence I asked my friend from if it was ok and he agreed.
