A few weeks ago, in Berlin, Tom got on the train and sat down across from me. I was tired, but my curiosity peaked at his appearance. I wasn’t sure if he was very approachable, but my question was answered when he went out of his way to help a lady get her bike onto the train. No one else (including myself) had thought to help her as quickly as he did. Once he sat back down I started talking to him. Turns out he grew up in the same area I was born in. He currently worked as a caretaker, helping people where he can. We spent the next two hours chatting about his life. I snapped a couple images with my phone and then parted ways. Before he left I asked him if he had any life advice. The tips were to always retain your inner child, keep a curious mind, and that appearances aren’t always as they seem. Thanks for your time Tom.
