Endometriosis is common but misunderstood
It’s a disease impacting 1 in 10 reproductive age people with uteruses and ovaries but average time from onset of symptoms and diagnosis is an average of 7-8 years.
Why?
Because too many people dismiss any discomfort and symptoms associated with menstrual cycles as ‘just part of being a woman’
And diagnosis requires seeing and testing for the endometriosis tissue during a laparoscopically surgery.
Surgery can both diagnose and treat endometriosis but it’s a lot to plan for, risks, recovery - it’s not easy to ‘just do a surgery’
If you have these symptoms - ask your doctor about endometriosis and find someone who will listen.
👇If you have endometriosis- how did you know, how long did it take to know?
