dear community,​​​​​​​​ ​​​​​​​​ we come to you encouraging you to take a pause from the current news cycle and to regulate your nervous system with this short breathwork exercise.​​​​​​​​ ​​​​​​​​ lowering your eye lids or gently focusing on an object in front of you, begin to notice your breath.​​​​​​​​ ​​​​​​​​ relax your jaw, your forehead and your tongue from the roof of your mouth.​​​​​​​​ ​​​​​​​​ feel supported by whatever surface is holding your body.​​​​​​​​ ​​​​​​​​ take an inhale in through the nose, filling lungs with air completely, your belly rising.​​​​​​​​ ​​​​​​​​ exhale out of the mouth with a sigh, emptying your lungs.​​​​​​​​ ​​​​​​​​ again.​​​​​​​​ ​​​​​​​​ inhale in through the nose, expansive belly.​​​​​​​​ ​​​​​​​​ exhale out of the mouth, with a loud sigh.​​​​​​​​ ​​​​​​​​ repeat.​​​​​​​​ ​​​​​​​​ allow tears to flow.​​​​​​​​ ​​​​​​​​ anger to be felt.​​​​​​​​ ​​​​​​​​ heaviness to be witnessed and observed.​​​​​​​​ ​​​​​​​​ the path to justice requires rest.​​​​​​​​ ​​​​​​​​ rest is needed for this journey and this fight.​​​​​​​​ ​​​​​​​​ we love you, are thinking of you and advocating for you in this work.​​​​​​​​ ​​​​​​​​ ​​​​​​​​ #blackgirlsbreathing
