I’m not really here for flags or nationalism or borders for that matter. But this image from the Mexican flag really strikes something in me. This historic symbol is the birth of Tenochtitlan, in present day Mexico City - originally created by the Aztecas.⁣ ⁣ It’s amazing to me that after so much time lost, stories, language, and cultural erasure that we can still connect to these symbols and images that signify a deep knowing inside. I think this happens across all cultures and it’s such a beautiful place to feel in tune with. Images are so powerful. I hope at least a few of my images are found 500 years from now and help someone in the future connect to their ancestors too.⁣ ⁣ I recently took a trip to Teotihuacan. These pyramids predate the Aztecs in ancient Mexika and are charged with sacred energy.
