For the first time in a while I felt a little uneasy in an outfit, not because of the outfit, which is amazing, but because I have been completely swollen for the last few weeks. It ebbs and flows and some days are better than others. That said, when I filmed this reel, it was one of those days. I asked @reneechoiphotography if I looked “Ok” in the outfit, and she gave me one of those looks, like you are completely insane. I did my thing and once I got the reel back, I was reluctant to post the reel because you can see the swelling all over my body, especially on the backs of my legs. Despite my discomfort, I knew I had to post it and use it as an opportunity to talk about some of the realities when it comes to living life with lupus. It’s not always fashion and photo shoots. I’m getting blood work done to see where my levels are, testing my kidney function, and then seeing my doctor. Sometimes reality can hit hard and hopefully nothing is wrong. Anyway, my point of all of this is not to get any sympathy, my life with lupus is a journey and always will be, but to always ACCEPT where you are, every single day! Own it and Love it!!
