HOW TO: HANDLE LATE CLIENTS, LATE CANCELLATIONS + NO SHOWS!!️👇🏼 👉🏼 15 MINUTES + LATER MUST RESCHEDULE - or the appointment MUST BE SHORTENED! I get it, life happens, but anything later then 15 minutes late this is what I do: I tell my client if they’d like the full service they were scheduled for they have to reschedule, if they still want PART of their service I offer a shorter option (ex: a full blonding can turn into a partial or a face frame appointment) this ensures that you aren’t running your entire day behind and disrespecting your upcoming clients appointments, this also will reduce YOUR stress behind the chair! 👉🏼 ENFORCE A LATE CANCELLATION OR NO SHOW FEE - although this is something I don’t run into often, it happens! I ask for my clients to allow 48 hour notice of cancelling or rescheduling so that I am able to fill the spot. If they can’t give me that, I charge them for their service, they have to realize we aren’t paid hourly! if they don’t come, we lost out. (fact: I have had to do this on a couple occasions and my clients can back me up that they aren’t offended or mad, they typically understand, I have even had clients who sent me payment for a late cancel without me even asking!) 👉🏼 NO SHOW = NO FUTURE APPOINTMENT - I said what I said! I asked that everyone respects my time, unless it is an emergency or an honest mistake I will not reschedule someone who blatantly no shows, I’m my opinion, it’s just unacceptable and shows no respect for your time HOW TO HELP THESE SITUATIONS❓👇🏼 👉🏼 use a booking system that sends out a reminder text 24-48 hours before their appointment, this way there’s less of a chance they will forget and if they do or can’t make it, they will be able to let you know! FACT: I have done hair for 16 years, and for many of those years I let clients walk all over me, it’s a hard and uncomfortable situation to set these boundaries, but once you do, it makes everyone’s life so much easier and LESS STRESSFUL!
