#WINNING The @thebtcshow @oneshothairawards is the most inspiring event in the hair industry, hands down. It’s not because of the lights and the huge screens, the music, cameras or the takeover of some of the largest hotels in the world. Not even because of the best brands and biggest names or celebrity hairstylists milling about and mingling in the crowds. It is inspiring because...hairstylists. People, artists, God-gifted creatives filled with dreams and passion and love for the guests who sit in our chairs and put their complete TRUST in US! #oneshot is a competition yes, but it is so much more than that! Sadly, there are so many circumstances and PEOPLE that hold us back and try to rob us of our dreams, goals and ambitions! Even more sad is that we allow it. I remember making my first backdrop and taking my guests outside to take pictures of their hair so I could post it on Instagram! It was sort of a new thing then and I remember the insecurity I felt bc I knew about the chuckles and negative talk that was going on about me. I did it anyway. I remember my second backdrop, it was big and hard to carry. More talk, more laughs. I did it anyway. I remember my first video!! Boy was that stepping out! It was the joy and passion and fire in me that pushed me to do it. To create. To PUT MYSELF OUT THERE. More snickering, laughing and talk. I did it anyway. I remember feeling the courage in myself building up to keep carrying my bulky backdrop, taking pictures, making videos, creating content and POSTING MY WORK! Still, the small minded people, did their thing. Less affectively of course. To some peoples disappointment, I started to grow. I was blossoming instead of shrinking. I believed in God and the gifts and fire He put inside of me! I started working with brands and companies, traveled to New York and other places to work on models for major advertisement and brand content, worked at hair shows and was invited to join the @btcteam! I have been nominated 4 years in a row for #oneshothairawards top 25 amongst hundreds of thousands of stylists world wide! STOP SHRINKING PEOPLE! Continued in comments...
