I DID IT. For my first marathon in 2019, I ran for Kathleen, my family, my friends, my clients, my roots in El Salvador. This one, this one I did for me. I have been in love with New York since I can remember and after completing TSP I felt invincible. I decided I was going to run NY without even securing a bib. I began to train keeping faith that it would come. I mentioned it to @mariahdyson and she ensured me that it would happen. Knowing my running struggles, I knew I had to commit and to train. I gave up meat, alcohol and was in bed earlier than your grandma. I’m not fast, I never will be.. not because I have to train better or longer but because the things that get in my way I can’t easily improve. That’s why I made the extra sacrifices, I needed all the breaks I could get & do my part in the places I COULD control. In return, I had a training cycle with no injuries and felt the strongest most confident I have ever felt on race day. I’m grateful, I’m humbled and in awe of what my body can do despite the hurdles. She ran with: ✅Endometriosis (and on day 2 of my 🩸) ✅Scoliosis ✅ADHD ✅Irregular Heartbeat & ✅Asthma The goal was to finish, and I did that. 🗽 Thank you to my amazing @girlgangcrazy @mariahdyson @strava @koreatownrunclub @earnednotgivenclub @luminous_body_therapy @chrisfocus friends, family and my special chopped cheese fam for holding me down and supporting me. 🗽
