It’s been a while since I’ve done a “behind the seams” post. That’s mostly because I’m generally too focused on working that I forget to take pictures for content. Here are some that I found/were sent to me. The first image was a quick sketch of the concept. Clearly, very Mugler inspired. We found the fabric for the body suit at @new_rainbow_fabric, and it just said XXX so, we decided to go for a very sexy and strong silhouette. The corset features protruding hip bones while the body suit boasts rounded shoulders, giving an alien-like silhouette. I had been wanting to make a corset dress for quite sometime and had the idea dancing in my head. The black is so strong, edgy, and dominating. In contrast, I wanted the lining to be soft and delicate reminiscent of a negligee. Another idea/technique I had been wanting to try is adding interest to the seams. I generally don’t like seams, but they are inevitable in a corset. How better to add interest to them? Adding bugle beads! Thank you to @crimsonxorder for taking on the task to bead along the seams.
