This book isn't all doom and gloom: it's a coming-of-age story, a coming out story, and a living-your-life-to-the-fullest story. It's set in an alternate version of New York City, where a company called Death-Cast conveniently informs people of their impending deaths. We meet Mateo and Rufus, who’ve just been told they’re going to die within 24 hours. As scary as that may sound, this novel is a phenomenal illustration of how to find hope, love, and community, even in the darkest times. (Like right now.)
