Great effort by the Hematology/Oncology departments at Kaiser Permanente, Panorama City celebrating Cancer Survivor Day today. Thank you to Dr Pakanati, Papa’s oncologist who invited him to recite his poem in front of a gathering of over a hundred cancer survivors and their families and the medical staff who participated. The event was full of raffle prizes and games, a magic show, music and dance and true life stories by a few patients and my favorite part was in each exit bag they gave out to the attendees as they left they also included among other goodies, a framed color original of Papa’s ‘world-famous’ poem called LIFE.
