Where did all the time go? Although accepting this news is truly a “bittersweet surrender”, it does not disregard the hard work and time put into Paper Girls. A round of applause to the exemplary cast and crew for making a show that sometimes felt like a deserved punch in the gut and a long awaited personal hug. I’m humbled to be apart of a production that told a unique story and did justice to the comics created by the talented Brian K. Vaughn, Cliff Chiang and Matt Wilson. Throughout this wild ride, I was privileged to work with gifted artists who I now consider to be my life long friends. My ride or die. Thank you for allowing me to portray Erin, an independent and sheltered kid who desperately wants to fit in. She tries her best to stay composed and results in taking out how she’s truly feeling with an attitude. Putting myself into her perspective opened my eyes to the strength it takes to accept the tough parts in life for what it is and moving on. Thank you for taking the time to learn about and love these weird little twelve year olds. This show is for all. I can’t express enough how much your kind words have touched my heart. Paper Girls made me feel validated and accepted. I saw myself in each of the characters and am ever so grateful to have this life-changing experience. As there is much more I wish I could say, we must keep moving forward. To more tampon stealing, Danzig rock-outs and robot explosions. Sending love, Riley And to Tiff, Kj, Mac and Erin. You’re stronger together. You wide-eyed girls, you get it right...fall back into place.
