Still on a high from this past weekend’s 2-day wedding events.
Day one: Traditional Nigerian wedding. We celebrated in true igbo style with plenty of food, lots of dancing, and an abundance of love.
When we started this wedding planning process, the Mr. and I wanted to stay true to ourselves while honoring traditions. The traditional wedding was the celebration of the bride’s Igbo culture but we still wanted bits of the Mr.’s Jamaican culture to shine thru. He asked me to create a sash made out of Jamaica’s national cloth. The national cloth was also incorporated into the sides of his white garment. Even his neck beads represented his culture.
Our bridal party looked absolutely amazing in their clothing. All of our clothing were created by Nigerian designers and we were all blown away by the professionalism and expertise of all of them.
