“In response to the second edition of Zweigstelle Capitain, Villa Lontana Records conceived a site-specific soundscape composed by field and electromagnetic recordings collected in Gisela Capitain’s headquarter gallery in Cologne and the gallery’s temporary space in Rome. This vast collection of sounds has been captured and edited by Michele Ferrari and selected by Villa Lontana Records which commissioned the sound design to Rome-based sound engineer Giuseppe Tillieci (Neel), playing with the idea of dislocation through spatialisation and electronics.” I conceived this piece as an immersive site-specific quadraphonic sound installation at Villa Lontana, a former garage built entirely in concrete and located on the ancient Via Cassia, once the main entry road to Rome for those coming from the north.
