One thing I have learned in my 60 summers on this earth that life is neither fair or not fair it just is ... , I cobble these words together that in no way could ever articulate the goodness and greatness of this beautiful man and how no one I know deserves this less than him ... this past week Berto who has never missed a day of work that was not his vacation since since he slid behind our bar at Pizzeria Bianco in 1994 had a stroke that led to a second and more much serious and life altering stroke, I have waited w a heavy heart to post this until we had as much information on his prognosis as possible , he can not speak or breathe on his own as of now but has moved slightly on his right side but not his left ... at this point it is wait and see .... His wife Julie of 30 plus years and his children as u can imagine are devastated but remain strong and by his side braced for the journey ahead .. he is the best father husband brother and Son , and sacrificed so much of his life for the good of his family ... he , they are our family ...truly ...we will do all and anything we can can to help take the best care of him ... thankfully he has health insurance thru the company that will help , but the bills and the reality that he might never be able to work again means we will work hard for him ... @dtrain1783 has set up a go fund account (link in my profile ) w a goal of 50 k I hope we can raise way way more than that ... I will be announcing some additional fundraising events for him or even possible small gatherings that I will do personally and w friends ...that will all go to Berto and his recovery... I don’t even know what to say or even do but pray and do all we can ... please if u can help please do ... I very much appreciate you listening ... if you were waiting to tell or show someone you love them just do it , every next breath is presumptuous ... Love cb 🙏🏼❤️ xoxo
