HOW TO MAKE CANDIED PECANS PERFECT FOR FALL ππ§‘π₯¬ Did you know that making candied pecans at home was this easy!? They only take 10 minutes and you donβt even need to turn your oven on! Pecans are the star ingredient of so many sweet and savory seasonal dishes. They can also serve as a delicious and nutrient dense snack. My favorite way to enjoy them is in a salad to add a bit of crunch and lots of flavor. Full recipe for this one is below, youβve got to try it!
Candied Pecans:
2 cups pecans
1β4 cup brown sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
3β4 tsp. salt
1β4 tsp. cayenne pepper (adjust based on preference)
1 tbsp. unsalted butter
1β2 tsp. vanilla extract
2 tbsp. water
Salad & Dressing:
Mixed greens
1-2 cups candied pecans
2 cups strawberries, quartered
1β4 red onion, thinly sliced
1β2 cup pomegranate seeds
Feta or mozzarella cheese to top
1β4 cup EVOO
2 tbsp maple syrup
1 lemon, juiced
1 tsp. Dijon mustard
Salt and pepper to taste
Toast pecans in skillet over med heat until fragrant (3-4 mins) then remove from heat and set aside. Add brown sugar, cinnamon, salt, cayenne, vanilla extract, butter and water to skillet over med heat and stir constantly until mixture begins to bubble (1-2 min). Add pecans to the mixture and stir thoroughly to coat. Continue cooking for approximately 3-5 min until they become less of a sticky consistency and more of a dried candy consistency. Remove from heat and transfer to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper to let cool. Enjoy!
