Shout out to @kekoa_cazimero and @instakahi for organizing a whole weeks worth of beach clean up events to help take care of one of the best beaches in the world! Wāwāmalu aka Sandy’s is where I spent a huge part of my childhood learning how to barrel ride as well as a place with countless memories enjoying the coast with friends. Hopefully events like these will inspire more youth to take better care of these special places because even as beautiful as they are, it’s still littered with trash, plastics, and invasive species. Been lots of awesome stewardship efforts over the years to preserve the Ka Iwi coastline and so much progress has been made but love to see an effort being led by the younger generation this time around. If not us, then who?
