Yu Cai's background is in traditional painting but she gravitated to digital tools for more control over color and contrast. This helped her develop feature-rich environments and a cult following online. In her previous work, the focus was on architecture and scenery, with people being a secondary element.But with Dragon Street, she put the citizens of her world front and center, exploring their quirks and identities. While working on the project, she kept the lines of communication with her community open, sharing sketches and looking for feedback. This gave her a better idea of how to price the collection and what size it could be. Ultimately landing on 333 NFTs at .13 eth each.
