The way I ugly cried of joy when I received news that I was 1 of 20 to be selected for Google's first-ever Image Equity Fellowship ... I am incredibly grateful, honored and over the moon. My inner child is screaming! I would not be here if it wasn’t for where I came from, truly believing in myself and having such a wonderful support system. This one is for my soul, my culture and community. I’m excited to revisit making personal work! Over the next 6 months of the Fellowship we are provided with mentorship, workshops, and funding to create an image-based project that explores and uplifts communities of color with care and nuance.
